At this year’s Geelong After Dark Matt Bonner is the leading artist in large scale projection art. Matt will be showcasing his work on City Hall in Gheringhap St. There will be an opening piece called “Machine” which will transform the building into a mechanical machine with cogs, pistons and steam representing early industrialization.

Inspired by the New Wilderness Project, first piloted by artists, writers, teachers and academics from Geelong in 2013, this installation has provided students with a platform to experiment and respond creatively to change in their community.
A series of abstract expressionist paintings created in fluorescent paint under black light. The fluid motion of the paint will take the viewer on a journey from canvas to canvas allowing them to be guided around the space by a trail of light emitted from the works.

artIS... consists of a gallery and working studios which is located in the arts precinct of Geelong CBD. There are currently six artists in residence creating in a wide variety of mediums, painting, drawing, print making and jewellery making.
ETCH Gallery and working studios will be open for the duration of Geelong After Dark 2015. The working artists’ studios and print studio will be open for the public to view. On the night of May 8th ETCH Gallery will be showcasing local artists work in two exhibitions that relate to the theme of light.

Particle is a new sound reactive light installation by Geelong born artist Eben Greaves. It investigates the relationship between sound, light, space and technology. It is made of 40 illuminating globes, which reacts to the sounds of the surrounding space and audience.
“Perpetual Echoes” is an independently driven, dynamic project which responds musically to six selected art works from the Geelong Gallery Collection. Geelong regional artists, Lisa Singline, Belinda McArdle, Sue Hindle and Stephen Oakes are collaborating to create musical compositions in response to each art work.

LUMOS invites those to witness an awakening of the senses. The installation envelops the viewer into the space by luring them in with flashes of colour and takes them on a sensory journey through a series of motions, sound and luminous light.
