A reimagining of the Rhine Experiment to test for extra sensory perception in Geelong subjects. Using two arrays of lightboxes marked with Zener's symbols for transmission and reception, Retail Cargo Cult parapsychologists (with Kneebone Press) will investigate the paranormal in a scientifically and artistically rigorous method that excludes sensory leakage.

The Workers Club Connecting Song is an initiative of the Arts & Culture Department, City of Greater Geelong, aligned with the place-based Mountain to Mouth arts walk. Well known Australian musicians with strong ties to Geelong mentor unsigned local acts through the process of writing, recording and filming a clip, honouring the mountains, the city and the beaches they all call home.

Performances (30 minutes each) commence 7, 8 & 9pm.

'Scent of the Night' is a sensual journey through the lane-ways of the city that takes you inside the minds of two young people from culturally diverse backgrounds looking for love in Geelong. Sensational slide guitarist Tim Hulsman will improvise live music on a giant, two or three stringed instrument, designed and built by industrial artist Mike Patton, triggering explosions of colour onto the mega screen behind by visual artist Nina Grant, in a multi-dimensional, interactive experience of light, sound and substance.

Uplighting is normally reserved for churches and other monuments, in this projection work, beautiful up-lit details are seen on the concrete surfaces of Geelong. Artist Joel Zika transforms functional surfaces, inviting participants to explore and find new beauty in lesser trodden paths of the City.

Pillowfort's Zoetrope will challenge the public’s perception of time and space by engaging the viewer through the illusion of persistence of motion. Moving an image that is positioned generally in 2 dimensional space into a 3 dimensional physical space.

Synaesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which the production of a sense impression by stimulation of another sense, leads to involuntary experiences, where sound may be seen in colour. “Can you hear Colours?” will engage an audio-visual performance, as colour light representations awaken your senses guided by melodic structures.

Nuku>_ evokes the retro charm of early text-based video games, but reimagined as a live theatre experience. Using puppetry and a clever mashup of old and new technology, a vacant shop becomes the play-space for quirky girl Nuku, her actions and adventures only limited by the audience’s imagination.

The Connecting Song Project (a component of the award-winning arts walk, Mountain to Mouth) is an initiative of the Arts & Culture Department of the City of Greater Geelong.

Three well-known Australian musicians with strong ties to Geelong each select a local unsigned act to mentor through the process of writing, recording and filming a clip.

Adalita from Magic Dirt was joined by Mick Thomas (Weddings Parties Anything ) and Mark Wilson (Jet) to guide Chloe St Claire, Jack Meredith and band Alby Jay through the process of writing, recording and filming a clip. Each song is a homage to the mountains, the city and the beaches they all call home.

The clips will premiere at Geelong After Dark Friday 3 May 2019, Moorabool St end of Lt Malop St.

The Urban Oasis will offer a multi-sensory immersive experience which features a projected visual feast for the eyes, enhanced by sound, calming scent and tactile textures. The visitor will be guided from a hot, dry, city-scape to a lush, calm space. A poetic alignment with Revitalising Central Geelong’s vision.

Street art projection response to Baby Gorilla. This is the third part of a series of responses by Meyer. The next generation will be immersed in social media as they meet the challenge of discovering themselves. The play of light and digital animation compliments the work and underscores the topic of parental responsibility, early learning in the media age and information overload.

Intuitively bees can sense a flower's electrical charge, through this sixth sense they find the right blossom. ‘Electric world of bees’ is an installation full of natural flowers juxtaposing sculptural bees drawing attention to the ingenuity of bees and their intuition.

Shifting Gears is an assembly of bicycle frames rotating upwards in a helix around a central pillar. Using LED units to illuminate patterns on the wheels, and tickers attached to the frames, the sight and sound of this piece encapsulates the freedom and excitement of riding a bike.

The Hopefuls are a big-puppet family. They are a roving ensemble of parents-baby-dog-pram, wanting to build a new life - a home, a sense of belonging. They mingle, trying to fit in. They could almost go unnoticed, except that they do stand out in a crowd!
