Watch the wonder spread when award-winning sisters and opera sensations Kirilie and Ruth Blythman come together, with the talented projection artist Michael Carmody, to create a truly immersive and evocative performance. Using the expressive music of Ricky Ian Gordon as a canvas, Silver Rain explores themes of nature, community, creativity and time, found in the words of famous American poets including Langston Hughes, Dorothy Parker and Emily Dickinson.

Riffs and rhythm. Squeaks, shouts and smiles. Tunes blast out. The band moves as one (almost!) as they lead the parade. Or play on the street corner. Or as they rehearse together on a rainy Tuesday night in their local community hall. You know the feeling. Playing in a band, singing and making music with others is something special. Hearing the rhythm drift down the street always increases your heartbeat. And playing at a street band festival is simply thrilling!

Harpist Christine Middleton plays her own composition on a beautiful glowing gothic harp. Be prepared to travel on a meditative journey through sound and light.

An installation by artists Sean Loughrey and Anne Scott Wilson, aimed to entice the senses in a theatrically staged, thunderous light show. The project features performances by the Geelong Harmony Choir “singing the storm”. The ames Street Bakery becomes a stage for a multi-media artwork and live performance in an event for all.

Live sound-scape construction, contemporary dance and light manipulation meet in Andy and Luigi’s multifaceted work, which seeks to bring to light the flux between the contemporary and the everyday, whilst exploring the interconnectivity of sound and movement.

An intriguing and evocative immersion in sound and imagery celebrating and honouring our interconnectedness with Earth. Featuring the unique sound of Sandy Dickinson’s Handpan, Stephen Oakes’ Indian Harmonium and Lisa Singline’s sublime vocals – the “sound of earth and light” performance by Aïr-thereal draws inspiration from the natural world.

Photographic images of the You Yangs taken throughout various times of day to reveal a dynamic and vivid spectrum of colours, creating a visual perspective whilst environmental recordings form the basis of the soundscape. Sounds representing and responding to the landscape colours and a score based on the silhouette of the Mount, are superimposed to reveal an emotional and yet informative connection to the landscape.

Steve Thew is a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist from Geelong in Victoria Australia. With his versatile vocal range and masterful skill on the acoustic guitar, banjo, harmonica and piano. Steve is a true blue Aussie entertainer, capable of capturing the hearts and minds of his audience in a way that only a truly humble and seasoned performer can.
