At this year’s Geelong After Dark Matt Bonner will be showcasing his work once again on City Hall in Gheringhap St. Matt’s projection explores GAD’s theme Heighten your senses through a piece called ‘Phobophobia’ the fear of fear itself.
The projection will include a panic button for instantaneous relief.

“Gravity defying feats await you when the Barwon Water forecourt is transformed by artists from Made In Natimuk.
ACT Natimuk, Made in Natimuk, Y Space, Transience and Mary French have collaborated to bring to life this site-specific, bespoke performance event with and for the Geelong Community.
With help from local schools Barwon Heads Primary and Barwon Valley School, the event features shadow puppets, aerial dancing and animation projections. The project features a genus of native fish that live in the rivers and estuaries of the Barwon waterways.

Uplighting is normally reserved for churches and other monuments, in this projection work, beautiful up-lit details are seen on the concrete surfaces of Geelong. Artist Joel Zika transforms functional surfaces, inviting participants to explore and find new beauty in lesser trodden paths of the City.

Synaesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which the production of a sense impression by stimulation of another sense, leads to involuntary experiences, where sound may be seen in colour. “Can you hear Colours?” will engage an audio-visual performance, as colour light representations awaken your senses guided by melodic structures.
Performances at 6.30, 7.30, 8.30, 9.30pm.
The Urban Oasis will offer a multi-sensory immersive experience which features a projected visual feast for the eyes, enhanced by sound, calming scent and tactile textures. The visitor will be guided from a hot, dry, city-scape to a lush, calm space. A poetic alignment with Revitalising Central Geelong’s vision.

A Welcome to Country is a protocol where Aboriginal Traditional Owners welcome others to their land and the land of their ancestors. The Welcome to Country ceremony is carried out as a sign of respect and connection to Welcome people. This practice has been conducted for many generations by Elders or respected peoples of the Traditional Owner group. When Inviting Traditional Owners to conduct a Welcome ceremony it shows respect for the Traditional Owners and Elders. The Traditional owners believe in the spirituality of this ceremony and by partaking in the ceremony you will be protected and have a safe journey on their Traditional lands.
A welcome is often spoken in the Traditional Language of the Traditional owners, and it is to be the first thing conducted at events, Gatherings etc. Once you are welcomed on country it is a sign of respect that in return you Acknowledge the ceremony and Traditional owners.
