After a sellout season in Geelong, 2015, HOMAGE TO THE MASTERPIECE celebrates two great artists Johannes Vermeer and Frieda Kahlo. Merging theatre, movement and narrative this intimate production allows an artistic immersion into the inspiration and private moments of the artists’ lives.

Frida Kahlo: (BillieRose Cachia); was a Mexican artist who found redemption and freedom from a horrific tram-car accident, ensuing in thirty operations to help her function. We see the joy, strength and peace her art allowed her to find.

Johannes Vermeer: (Darcy Kent) Inspired by the novel, The Girl with the Pearl Earring, we follow the private moment of Vermeer’s inspiration for the painting of the same name, his beautiful but forbidden relationship to his maid and helper, Grete (Tali Brash) an the passion which fuels great artworks.
