Artist: Eben Greaves

Particle is a work that explores basic interactivity between the human and the machine. It provides an intimate encounter with a circuit, which responds to sounds of the space with light. It attempts to suggest the beginning of electronic consciousness in its most primitive forms while remaining a non-threatening and playful experience. When machines come closer to mirroring or exceeding our selves in every way will this then allow them to be considered conscious and equal? Will they see the iPhone as a primitive ancestor as we see bacteria and primates? At the rate our lust fuels the progression and obsession of technology perhaps its closer than we think?
