Jacob ter Veldhius

Jacob ter Veldhius is a modern Dutch composer I researched during my masters of music performance degree. He created a series of ‘boombox’ works for instruments with ghettoblaster accompaniment. The work I will be performing is titled The Garden of Love and features the soprano saxophone interacting with a soundtrack that combines samples of bird sounds with a reading of the William Blake poem of the same title. To realise the theme of ‘light’, accompanying visual animations will be digitally projected and the performance space adapted to create the atmosphere of a garden at night.
